Viparita Virabhadrasana
Hi folks
What better workout than Yoga, to shake up those lazy bones ‘n’ muscles!
It is named after the mythological Hindu warrior, Virabhadra
Viparita Virabhadrasana is a great asana to stretch the entire back.
This asana should be done after Warrior 1 and 2.
What does Viparita Virabhadrasana mean?
Viparita means…. Reverse
Virabhadra…. name of an Indian warrior
This asana is a standing back-bending pose that provides a deep side stretch.
This asana stretches many parts of the body and offers a wide range of health benefits.
To enter into this pose, complete the Warrior 1 and 2 and then get into this asana.
Unlike Warrior 2, the rear hand rests on the back leg and the forward arm reaches to the sky, creating an arch in the back. The gaze is up to the sky.
Reverse Warrior is good for stretching the arms and sides of the torso, which strengthen the lower body and open the hips. It also opens the chest and builds the core strength.
Note:
Reverse warrior is a particularly beneficial pose for those with a sedentary schedule/ lifestyle!
