Road Trip to Rishikesh
Back home after a mesmerising trip to Rishikesh and thanks to Krishnadas for his bhajans which were pure bliss and filled with Divinity.
After the concert, we decided to stay put at Rishikesh for three more days before heading to the mundane stuff.
So, we checked into a home stay and had a real comfortable stay.
This trip we made sure we have a proper Uttarakhand meal.
Now guess what, we were told that only one restaurant served authentic local cuisine in Rishikesh.
It is ‘Hotel Aaravam Ganga Aroma Cafe’, on the Laxman Jhula Road.
The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.
The thali had…Tuar dal, Kaafuli (Spinach n Fenugreek leaves chutney)
Jakhiya Rice, Mandua ki Roti and Jhangore Kheer.
A must try when you are in Rishikesh next time.
The owner of our home stay, Mr.Amit told us not to miss the evening arti at Triveni Ghat and said it is one of the best one.
We wondered what was so special about it and made it a point to attend that evening.
It was the normal Ganga arti but as soon as it was over, local musicians started Krishna bhajan and within a fraction of a second the crowd burst into swaying n dancing.
What a sight it was n then we realised why the arti here truly special.
An elderly man, who has been living by the ghat since a long time , danced non stop and it truly was an ecstatic dance and full of Divine energy !
My hubby also joined the group and swayed a little…an electrifying atmosphere it was by the Triveni ghat.
We requested that elderly man for a pic and he immediately obliged us and blessed us too!
What an evening!
Looking forward to our next trip to Rishikesh
