MY COMPANY
In still chambers where silence rests,
I meet myself benevolently blest.
Far from the crowds or vexing sound,
Me and my thoughts are deeply bound.
As I walk alone, not lonely though,
Accompanies my soul as a trusted beau.
Making each step I take, a calm parade
Decorated with the joy I’ve self-made.
A gentle laugh, a chucklesome grin,
The world beams, when I look within.
No masks to wear, no roles to play,
Just me in my real piece, to fill the day.
In books I read, in coffee I brew,
In sunsets kissed with marmalade hue.
I see the mirror, immaculate and true,
Reflecting peace and love in each view.
For what is called company, I am enough,
Even when days get cold and roads get rough.
Carrying inside, this steady flame,
I speak my truth, I call my name.
Axing the need to seek that isn’t mine,
Everywhere I go, I lustrously shine.
Sustaining the sacred bond, quiet Ă la carte,
I treasure myself, with a grateful heart.
