MASAL DOSA by P V Vaidialingam
Idli reigns
supreme,
A breakfast king
so grand.
Yet, it is Masal Dosa,
her queen,
Who rules the
South Indian land.
In every vegetarian
haven,
Masala Dosa is a
must.
The most famous
snack,
The entire humanity
lusts.
From the deepest South
to the North,
Its fame spreads
so fast.
Mere mention
of this dish,
Kindles one’s
culinary wish.
Stuffed crepes,
a delight,
For people all over
the world.
Crispy, soft,
and healthy,
It is a gluten-free
treat.
Rice and lentil
blended,
A batter,
so splendid.
Soak and blend
overnight,
To get crispy breakfast
delight.
On a hot tava it is
made,
With oil, butter,
or ghee.
Filled with spiced
potatoes,
And onion- tomato
curry.
Sambar, chutney
accompany,
Grand side dishes
indeed,
Customize with
paneer- veggie,
Get into an
eating spree.
As I am writing
this poem,
Sudden hunger is
striking me,
I am rushing
to the kitchen
To have a Masal Dosa
treat,
Abandoning my
writing spree.
