Indian Railways by L.C. Trivedi
In the heart of Mother India, steel tracks pave the way,
A lifeline connecting souls, where travellers find their stay.
Indian Railways, a nation’s pride, a journey rich and grand,
A tapestry of stories woven through the vast and diverse land.
From the bustling stations to the rhythmic choo-choo,
A symphony of motion, a kaleidoscope of view.
The whistle blows, the engine hums, on paths both near and far,
Carrying dreams and memories, beneath the radiant star.
From Himalayan peaks to coastal shores, it spans the length and breadth,
Through emerald fields and desert sands, connecting life and death.
The chaiwalas, the hawkers, the chai and vada-pav,
A blend of cultures, sights, and sounds along the railway’s ave.
From the toy trains crawling up the hills, to the Rajdhanis swift and sleek,
The Konkan route’s scenic wonders, to the dabbas packed and meek.
Fellow passengers sharing tales, a bond that’s formed anew,
In the cradle of the Indian Railways, a journey old yet true.
So here’s to the Indian Railways, a marvel that endures,
A saga of resilience, of unity, for everyone it assures.
The tracks that bind a billion hearts, in a nation’s timeless embrace,
A tribute to the iron horses that journey with grace
