Garlic Parathas by S.Padmamohan
Seems to be a pretty warm day here at Delhi today.
Just through with lunch and I thought I should share it here…nothing fancy but healthy for sure!
My hubby saw some fresh Garlic pods on the kitchen counter and said, “How about Garlic parathas for lunch?’. I was like, surprised!
Trust me, they were lip smacking and something different from the regular whole wheat flat breads.
As we all know, Garlic is a rich source of vitamins, antioxidants and minerals.
We had these piping hot Garlic parathas with Mango pickle ‘n’ a dash of butter.
Recipe:
2 cups whole wheat flour
Salt to taste
Water for kneading into a soft pliable dough
3 tbsp of: Finely chopped Cilantro, 2 green Chillies, 10 Cloves of Garlic
1 tsp Carrom seeds, a dash of Cayenne Pepper and
2 tsp crushed Kasuri Methi.
Mix all the above, add water little by little and knead to a soft dough.
Set the dough aside for 15 minutes and pinch the dough into equal balls and roll out into medium sized round roties.
Cook the roties on medium heat and drizzle a mix of ghee ‘n’ oil on both sides of the roti and cook till done.
Garlic Paratha is ready to be devoured. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch today….something different ‘n’ very tasty.
Go ahead ‘n’ try this recipe.
