Bombay Review and Other Stories by Sonali Singh
Bombay Review and Other Stories by Ravi Valluri is a retelling of history & mythology. It is a simple yet captivating read.
The stories in this book are inspired by real life incidents. The book revolves around romance, murders, ambition, politics, legacies, drama, betrayal etc. It will take the readers on a rollercoaster of emotions.
The inclusion of drabbles drawn on occurrences which take place around us in our daily lives was intriguing. Each & every story is short. I was hooked from the start till the very end of this book. The titles of these short stories are well-chosen. Characters like Karna, Arjuna, Dronacharya, Buddha, Ashwathama, Bhishma, Duryodhana, Shakuni, various Zen Masters and heroes and villains from Panchatantra find a place in the stories set in present times.
The way this book has been presented is beautiful. The dedication of this book was a quote by Nelson Mandela & it was awesome – “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who doesn’t feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
The author has done an impeccable job here. I highly recommend this book to everyone out there, especially to the Gen Z.
