Umesh Moudgil was born in 1965 in Jalandhar, Punjab. He moved with his family to the UK in 1970 and lived his adult life in theย UK but still has a home in Punjab

In his early twenties, he discovered writing as a form of self-therapy and wrote two books, Deliverance, and Brothers in Arms, which were nominated for a diversity award in the United States.

He now tries to advocate for open discussions about mental health in the Asian community through live Instagram Podcasts because he feels the need to be able to share and help others understand who they are.
