CYCLONE MIGJAM
In Chennai’s heart,
a cyclone’s rage,
Nature’s fury on history’s page.
Mankind’s errors, a heavy toll,
Flood waters that drowned us all.
Reduce burning fossil fuel,
First step for nature’s survival.
Ponds and lakes, a disappearing grace,
Restore them now and create the space.
Desilt the waters, let them flow,
An urgent call, we all must know.
Drainage overhauls, storm drains anew,
To ease the floods that nature threw.
One-time plastic, a foe to shun,
Ban its usage, our major concern.
Government lands, lakes betrayed,
Punish Encroachers and send them to jail.
Arrest the culprits, let them face,
The consequence of their wicked traits.
Demolish the structures on the lakes,
Punish the guilty, for nature’s sake.
Elections near, a choice to make,
Remember well, for earth’s own sake.
Cash for vote, a tempting sin,
But nature’s wrath, none can win.
Think, resolve, act with might,
Escape the storms and embrace the light.
Mankind’s wisdom, a guiding star,
A safer world, near and far.
